After 20 years of experience in the IT Engineering Industry, ICU were established in 2000 with the specific objective of bringing a fresh approach to supporting the IT requirements of local businesses. We wanted to provide a more professional and affordable service, using experience gained in working in large organisations and using proven preventative techniques already practised in more mature engineering disciplines.
Since ICU's inception, we have found this fresh approach to be extremely successful for our customers, and now have a proven track record in applying our strategies of preventative maintenance, support and IT development. During this time we have assisted many local businesses in securing, stabilising and developing their computer facilities. This has helped us develop many standard solutions to the specific issues.
'Plain English' IT It has always been our aim to remove the 'mystique' surrounding IT and computer systems for our customers. We take time to understand your business, culture and IT needs, and convey our proposed solutions in Plain English. It is unnecessary, and frustrating, to use jargon or blind customers with science! Our objective is to match your IT facilities with the needs of your business, and your business objectives. We feel this can only be done through effective communication.
The ICU Solution to IT Support In brief, our objective is to provide you with all of the facilities of a proactive in-house IT Department, as and when you need us. We will work with you to ensure that all facilities required to operate the business are available and working correctly. It is against our philosophy to enter into the traditional 'brake-fix' type IT contracts as we believe that prevention is far better than cure. We conduct periodic planned maintenance and system health checks to ensure correct operation of the facilities, and through this method we find that support requirements drop off rapidly and increase the efficiency of computer operators. We pay special attention to the security and protection of the network and data, and ensure that the firm cannot be in jeopardy through loss of information. We do not require a contract to work for you; it is our belief that if we do a good job and provide value for money, we will retain your business. We operate only within a 50 mile radius of our Derby base to ensure consistent, fast response times- usually, one of our engineers can be with you within 30 minutes if required.
